Everyone Can Dance or Move to Music AND IT'S FUN!
Dance Connection for All
A dance pathway that moves from warm up, through movement vocabulary, expression and release, before decelerating into calm and self-connection. No set steps.
Partnering the body - listening, connecting, exploring, expressing, and allowing body-mind wisdom to restore equilibrium - Our own resource is connected to and creates well-being. Dancing solo, pair, small group, and whole group dances reflects life, and allows both self-connection and explores ways of relating in movement to others.

Dance Connection, at St Mary's Church House Hall, is run in blocks of 6 classes (which includes a free one), to encourage commitment to your own wellbeing and practice, to the group, and to support progression.

Dance Connection appeals to those with little or no dance experience, through to those who are or have been dance teachers....why? You can dance and move to your own capacity, you can't get it wrong, it makes you feel good, creates a sense of community, and the varied music is a tonic in itself.
Bridport Dance Connection Classes started at the first point possible in 2020, with distanced dancing, at The Unitarian Church. We were 10-12 people in the upstairs yellow room, and as we continued to dance, more people wanted to come - we grew out of the room and were delighted to find the roomy hall at St Mary's Church House. From Autumn 2023 we have brimming, with no more spaces for this present block.

What it does for me:
Every week I facilitate a dance pathway that is inspired for the Thursday class. Even though I don't dance as much as the participants, however I'm feeling on arrival (physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally), I always feel better at the end of the session. I believe we need to move (Jewell)
Dancing and moving, allows: expression of what might be there emotionally, freeing up energy that may be stuck from sitting or repetitive movements, connection with yourself and others.
Music has always been a driving force in my life, and it gives me the greatest pleasure to offer a rich, varied and sometimes surprising selection of music every week.

I hope to dance with you ,
